There are numerous dietary supplement products on the market. However, these may not be appropriate for all tactical athletes. Having a comprehensive and standardized nutritional strategy will help ensure that all tactical athletes get the right amount of nutrition at the right times.

We take your reputation as seriously as we do our own. As many as one in ten sports supplements can be contaminated with ingredients and compounds prohibited in sport, so you need to ensure that your trusted nutrition partners consider their product development as seriously as you do your performance.

Informed-Sport, a programme of quality assurance for the sports nutrition industry and its suppliers, tests supplements independently for substances on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) list of banned substances.

There are also reports that certain brands will have the Informed Sport logo on packaging for products that do not necessarily undergo testing and also the logo may be used on brand websites when only certain products in their range are tested.

Optimal vitamin D status is also critical. Studies have found that an optimal level of vitamin D is related to neuromuscular coordination, maximum oxygen consumption, and optimal muscle protein synthesis.

This is in order to enable athletes, anti-doping bodies, sporting organizations and nutrition industry groups to easily identify products certified for quality and safety through rigorous pre-registration audits before testing every batch sold before sale.

Athlete-specific data support the concept that FODMAPs affect exercise-associated gastrointestinal symptoms . Gastrointestinal symptoms can occur after intense exercise, which can affect energy replenishment. This is especially important when competitions take place over several days or several times a day. Often athletes exclude foods high in FODMAPs such as lactose, fructose with excess glucose, galactooligosaccharides, polyols, and fructans) on their own . Some studies have highlighted the effectiveness of using a low FODMAP diet to reduce the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms during and outside of exercise .

In addition, the elimination of gluten from the diet means that many carbohydrate foods consumed by endurance athletes are also eliminated from the diet . Iron deficiency anemia occurs in 70% of people with CD . Therefore, it is necessary for such athletes to carefully plan their nutritional needs for training and competition . In cases where CD is accompanied by iron-deficiency anemia, it is vital to follow an iron-rich GFD. A study analyzed nutritional intake during training and competition in the 384 km K4 cycling race of an aspiring long-distance cyclist diagnosed with CD. During the competition, the athlete reported nausea when they tried to consume sugary drinks or marmalade, so their desire to eat decreased. This was probably due to a combination of prolonged consumption of sugary foods and fatigue. Furthermore, the use of dry and crumbly forms of GF foods also proved to be problematic, as some of the food was lost, and the consumption of dry foods can increase the urge to drink. In addition, GF foods tend to be high in calories, which can slow stomach emptying and cause discomfort during exercise . GF foods are energetically rich, but low protein content makes athletes feel hungry despite meals. As a result, against the background of hunger, the development of psychological disorders is possible. The athlete completed his main task to finish the race, but the total race time was almost 2 h slower than expected. This could have been due to insufficient energy intake, which led to the early onset of fatigue. Therefore, for athletes with CD during training and competition, it is necessary to consider alternative dietary regimens to increase endurance .

Scientific journals most commonly publish research articles and review articles. Research articles are written by and for scholars in order to share their research findings. Review articles compile the results of many different studies on a topic into an overview of that field. Most scientific journals go thru the process of peer-review in which they send the drafts of articles submitted to them to a group of scholars in the discipline prior to publication.
